Americano padel rules: common conventions and how Pablo does it
Americano has no single rulebook. Groups agree their own. Here is what is common, and what Pablo Padel implements and lets you configure.
Common conventions
These vary by group and club, so agree them before the first ball.
What Pablo implements
Pablo is explicit about its own behaviour, whatever your group does elsewhere.
Convention versus Pablo
Partners rotate
Common convention. In Pablo, fixtures rotate partners and never repeat a partner within the rounds you set.
Points are individual
Common convention. In Pablo, each player earns their team’s score from each completed match.
Match length
Common conventions include fixed-total or timed games. Pablo records whole-number scores adding up to your configured points-per-match total; it does not run a match timer or implement tennis sets.
Ranking ties
Tie-break rules vary by group. Pablo sorts by points, wins, point difference, points scored, then player name.
| Round | Team A | Team B |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sara + Omar | Layla + Khalid |
| 2 | Sara + Layla | Omar + Khalid |
| 3 | Sara + Khalid | Omar + Layla |

Questions
Does every player face every other player?
Not for every chosen schedule. Pablo rotates partners, but a shortened event or limited court space does not guarantee that everyone meets every opponent. The small sample below is illustrative.
Does everyone partner everyone?
Only if the number of rounds allows it. The limit is the roster size minus one (even rosters) so partners do not repeat.
What if players outnumber court spots?
Some players sit out each round. Sit-out handling is a scheduling detail rather than a standard rule.
Which scoring should I pick?
Many groups use a fixed total like 24 or 32 points per match. Pablo lets you set it.
